這座建築始建於19世紀,除了是舒曼夫婦的閒來眾腳點, 亦是孟德爾頌生前最後一間居所.他曾在書信中提及". . . and was concerned first of all about a proper home (since there are no furnished dwellings here and during the trade fair one cannot stay at any of the inns).
